Planning a wedding is one of the most stressful times for a couple.  That’s why, as a caterer and event planner, I can take some of the stress and worry out of the months leading  up to and including the big day!

However, sometimes things can go wrong. It rains on an  outdoor wedding, someone sits on the wedding cake, or a bride’s heel breaks on her wedding  shoe.  This is a story about one of those times and how in the end it turned out for the  best!

I was planning a wedding in the spring of last year and decided to order the wedding floral arrangements from a local florist.  Everything was in order and was set for the big day.  The event was going so smoothly and according to plan that I hoped I wouldn’t run into a  snag somewhere along the road.

Unfortunately the florist misplaced our order!!  My clients were disappointed and upset.  It  was really embarrassing for me as well.

We had to act fast.  The wedding was only two days away and I didn’t have time or resources  to put together anything of quality for the wedding. I got in contact with my go-to florist  Martha Stewart Flowers at 1-800-Flowers.com and luckily they had the resources to work something out for me on such short notice.

Thankfully we could still go with the bride  and groom’s choice of purple wedding flowers. They sent me some lovely hydrangea  arrangements, in lavender, as centerpieces for the reception tables.  For the bridal party lavender roses with white monte cassino and seeded eucalyptus were sent  including matching corsages for the groomsmen.

I wasn’t driving around like a crazy woman  the day before the wedding because the flower arrangements were on their way.  The bridal  party’s floral bouquets came to the church and the flower centerpieces went to the reception  hall.  It was all organized for me!!  I’m so glad that it went smoothly in the end.  It would have been terrible if Martha Stewart Flowers hadn’t pulled through for me and my clients.  They saved the day!

Every year for Mother’s Day I am up early and at my Mother’s house fixing her favorite breakfast, buckwheat waffles with blueberry sauce. Delicious!  My mother, father, and I all sit down together and have a wonderful time over many cups of coffee and waffles.

This year, however, I couldn’t be there for Mother’s Day. Of course, I still had to plan something special for my mom.  This is her day! But now I had a dilemma…what should I get her?  I thought of her favorite gifts and my favorite gift to give which is flower arrangements.

I quickly logged onto Martha Stewart Flowers and browsed through the many floral ideas.  It was hard to choose as there were many Mother’s Day bouquets.  Finally, I settled on the Classic Red Rose Bouquet. I decided to put a little something extra in as the Sweets and Treats Tower caught my eye.  I think that would satisfy any sweet tooth, including my mom’s!

I phoned my mom early Sunday morning to wish her a Happy Mother’s day and to make sure she recieved my basket of goodies as well as the red roses.  She happily thanked me for the lovely gift.  My dad luckily was be there to give her a kiss and hug for me.  Hopefully I will be able to make waffles and blueberry sauce next year!

I love spring! I’m happy winter and snow are gone and glad springtime is here.  The birds, sunshine, and of course spring flowers like daffodils and tulips and crocuses are back.  I can tell other people are happy with the change in weather too.  I noticed on my walk there were lots of people with their dogs and children in the park and down by the water. My walk reminded me that I needed to pull out the spring time decorations.

I usually become a little obsessed with spring and like to display my bunny ornaments that I line up along the fireplace ledge.  I also have this Easter basket that I fill with little glass eggs. I picked up a spring copy of Martha Stewart magazine while in the checkout line at the grocery store.  At home I checked out all the awesome craft projects like new easter egg decorating ideas and how to arrange your own floral bouquets.

I felt I needed my own floral arrangement so I went online to Martha Stewart Flowers.  I had a hard time deciding between the red tulip arrangement and the lily bouquet.  I needed something to go along with my theme so I ordered a white and pink Easter Lily bouquet.  Straight from the source!

The ordering went smoothly and they came yesterday and are my flower centerpiece living on my dining room table right now. The lilly arrangement is so fragrant its filling up my house! Love ‘em! They are a great addition to my spring madness. I may have to order more….

Any suggestions for other easter floral bouquets?
